Action Plan based on the Women’s Advancement Promotion Law
FUSO CHEMICAL CO., LTD. (Head Office: Osaka City, Osaka) has formulated an action plan based on the Act on Promotion of Women’s Participation and Advancement in the Workplace (Women’s Advancement Promotion Law).
To promote the advancement of women, we are considering the expansion of our childcare support system and reevaluating our internal regulations from a woman’s point of view. Our goal is to create work environments equipped to allow women to actualize their potential fully, while engaging in long-term employment with peace of mind.
As stated in its motto, FUSO CHEMICAL strives to realize limitless progress and creation by actualizing the unique potential of a diverse workforce, without regard to attributes such as gender, nationality, or age. As a global niche top enterprise, FUSO CHEMICAL never rests on its laurels, but is projecting FUSO Power onto the global stage in its quest for further development. As an enterprise actively promoting the creation of work environments where motivated women can continue to play important roles, and an enterprise providing support for the achievement of work-life balance and the ability of men to participate in child rearing, housework, and activities in the local community, FUSO CHEMICAL was honored by Osaka City, where its head office is located, with certification as a Leading Company for Women’s Advancement.
This certification signifies public recognition by the city of Osaka of our efforts to ensure that all of our motivated employees, and not just women, are able to balance work and life while pursuing their jobs with enthusiasm.
1. Osaka City certifies and publicizes, according to a fixed standard, enterprises that work actively to create comfortable working environments for women.
2. Certified enterprises can use the certification mark on products and business cards for promotional purposes.
3. Osaka City provides a certain amount of support for certified enterprises.
Going forward, we will continue striving to create work environments where all employees can demonstrate their ambition and abilities fully.
Because supporting working women results in environments where not only women, but all employees can realize their capabilities, we will maintain our efforts to promote women’s advancement.

Based on the Law for Measures to Support the Development of the Next Generation, FUSO CHEMICAL CO., LTD. has announced its General Employer Action Plans.
What is the Law for Measures to Support the Development of the Next Generation?
To foster environments in which children who will shoulder responsibility for the future can grow up sound and healthy, the Law for Measures to Support the Development of the Next Generation was enacted on April 1, 2005. The law clarifies the responsibilities of national and local governments, employers, and the public.
Though the legislation was intended to be of limited duration, its term was extended 10 years, to March 31, 2025.
What are General Employer Action Plans?
General Employer Action Plans are term-limited initiatives with specific goals and measures to reach those goals. The plans aim to promote working environments that help employees with children balance work and home life, and facilitate a diverse range of workstyles for everyone, including employees without children.
FUSO CHEMICAL respects the goals laid out in the Law for Measures to Support the Development of the Next Generation and the Women’s Advancement Promotion Law. To foster the achievement of these goals, we formulated the following three-year action plans.
The plans aim not only to support the advancement of women, but to effect a companywide reform of workstyles, including those of male employees, and to foster an internal culture that enables each employee in a diverse workforce to actualize her or his abilities to the fullest extent.
Plan based on the Law for Measures to Support the Development of the Next Generation
Plan term: April 1, 2018 to March 31, 2021
Objective 1Raise average rate (whole company) of annual paid leave utilization to 50% or more
● From July 2018: conduct employee research survey, begin considering results
● From October 2018: consideration of identified problems by each business division
● From April 2019: announce internally; announce percentage of paid leave taken by employees of each business division
Objective 2Introduce and implement No Overtime Days to enhance work-life balance and add variety to work.
● From April 2018: identify employee needs, begin considering results

● From October 2018: implement No Overtime Days, post notices to notify employees (monthly)
Objective 3Expand the limited. working hours system for employees with children of age up to the first three grades of elementary school.

Social Contribution Activity Policy
In accordance with the FUSO CHEMICAL Group management philosophy to contribute to the nation and society, we promote activities to benefit our stakeholders and support their advancement, beginning with residents of local communities, while endeavoring to communicate with society.
Local Community Activities
■ Cleaning activities
We conduct regular cleanup activities around our Kyoto Plant as part of our overall 1S activities.
In addition, all of our offices cooperate with local community beautification activities.
Every August, we open part of our Kyoto Plant premises to host a summer vacation event.We welcome employees, their families and friends, and local residents to these events. They are good opportunities for attendees to learn more about us, and have become a regular community activity.
Employee volunteers participate in local community outreach activities, and volunteers from the Kyoto Plant support events held at the “Enterprise Exchange Plaza” for residents of the surrounding community.Going forward, we hope to further expand the circle of participants in volunteer activities.

We also participate actively in sporting and other events held at the Osadano Industrial Park, where our Kyoto Plant is located.

The 27th Osadano Industrial Park Long-distance Goodwill Relay Race was held in the area around Osadano Park in Fukuchiyama City.
Thirty-two teams participated, comprised of employees of enterprises located in the industrial park, and the FUSO CHEMICAL A Team took first place. Many thanks to our supporters.
Education support activities

Our Kyoto Plant offers vocational training and internships for students of local schools.
■Experimental classroom for children
At the Fuso Festa, which is aimed predominantly at elementary and junior high school students, participants had the opportunity to perform scientific experiments and engage in activities that convey the mystery and wonder of science.
Support and Donations
We donate books to the Fukuchiyama Municipal Public Library.
We support resource recovery activities at local elementary and middle schools.
