Background to this Declaration
Under company motto of “Limitless Progress and Creation”, we believe that to supply our products all over the world is the meaning behind our existence.
The most important thing for this is that employees and their families are in good physical and mental health.
In March 2021, we announced FUSO health and productivity declarations in order to clarify management’s commitment to supporting the maintenance and promotion of each employee’s health.
Health and Productivity Management Promotion System
By establishing a health and productivity management system, we will actively lead efforts to maintain and promote the health of our employees in cooperation with relevant parties both inside and outside the company.
An overview of these efforts will be reported to the Board of Directors on a regular basis.
Creating a Healthy Work Environment
■Toward the realization of self-directed work styles>
In January 2023, our Tokyo Head Office has been partially renovated.
We have been set up new areas for different purposes, such as web meetings, concentrating, and team work. The new office layout offers employees the choice of using different areas depending on their tasks. It is designed to promote not only self-directed work styles, but also work efficiency within departments and teams. We also have a meeting space and cafe area that can be used for simple meetings to create communication among employees across departments.
FUSO is working toward “promoting diversity and raising awareness” as stated in our mid-term management plan “FUSO VISION 2025”. We will increase the flexibility of work styles and reform the work environment to accommodate various tasks and working styles.
■Office casual>
Since May 1, 2020, Fuso Chemical Co., Ltd. has liberalized the wearing of uniforms for female employees. Since October 2021, however, in order to promote diversity and to create a healthier and more comfortable working environment, we have designated “Office Casual” for both men and women throughout the year as the standard for attire at work.
Basic Policy
The three basic policies outlined below greatly increase the degree of freedom of attire at work.
(1)Work attire should be neat and appropriate for working in the office as a member of society.
(2)Be clean, uncomfortable, and be attired with consideration for the surroundings.
(3)We try to wear clothes that correspond to TPOs (Time (hours), Place (places), and Occasion (cases),Follow company instructions, if any.

Action Plan based on the Act on Promotion of Women’s Participation and Advancement at the Workplace
In order to keep being a better company, we believe that it’s important to keep our work environment where employees with diverse values can work in their own way regardless of gender and respect each other. We have formulated the following general employer action plan so that each employee can build up their own career with balancing their private life events such as childcare and nursing care. Action period:April 1, 2021 to March 31, 2023 (2 years)
Objective1Raise the ratio of female workers among permanent employees 14% to 17% or more.
Objective2Achieve a male child-care leave rate of at least 25% and maintain a female child-care leave rate of 100%. In addition, the period of male child-care leave will be five days or more and the period of female child-care leave will be 330 days or more.

We are creating an environment based on the Act on Advancement of Measures to Support Raising Next-Generation Children so that employees can balance work and parenting. In order to create a workplace where each employee can fully utilize his or her abilities, we have formulated the following general employer action plan to provide support for employees who are balancing their career and childcare or nursing care, including leave and shortened working hours for them. We conduct regular cleanup activities around our Kyoto Plant as part of our overall 1S activities.
In addition, all of our offices cooperate with local community beautification activities.
■FUSO Festival
Every August, we open part of our Kyoto Plant premises to host a summer vacation event.We welcome employees, their families and friends, and local residents to these events. They are good opportunities for attendees to learn more about us, and have become a regular community activity.
■Volunteer activities
Employee volunteers participate in local community outreach activities, and volunteers from the Kyoto Plant support events held at the “Enterprise Exchange Plaza” for residents of the surrounding community.Going forward, we hope to further expand the circle of participants in volunteer activities.
■Exchange activities with local communities
We also participate actively in sporting and other events held at the Osadano Industrial Park, where our Kyoto Plant is located.

The 27th Osadano Industrial Park Long-distance Goodwill Relay Race was held in the area around Osadano Park in Fukuchiyama City.
Thirty-two teams participated, comprised of employees of enterprises located in the industrial park, and the FUSO CHEMICAL A Team took first place. Many thanks to our supporters.
On November 12, 2021, the Osadano Industrial Park held its first joint disaster prevention drill in collaboration with the fire department headquarters in Fukuchiyama City and the Osadano Industrial Center. Assuming that an earthquake with a seismic intensity of over 6 occurred and chemicals leaking from the tank ignited, we checked the flow from initial fire fighting to the arrival of the fire brigade.

Our Kyoto Plant offers vocational training and internships for students of local schools.
■Experimental classroom for children
At the Fuso Festa, which is aimed predominantly at elementary and junior high school students, participants had the opportunity to perform scientific experiments and engage in activities that convey the mystery and wonder of science.
Support and Donations
We donate books to the Fukuchiyama Municipal Public Library.
We support resource recovery activities at local elementary and middle schools.

In October, 2021, PMP presented Peoria Fire Department with a check for $15,000 so that they could purchase equipment needed, such as hazardous material protection suits and hazardous gas detectors, specifically for dealing with chemical fires, spills and accidents – very much like the type of hazards they may have to deal with if PMP ever had an accident. Peoria Fire Department’s Hazardous Materials Unit is based one kilometer from PMP.
PMP has an outstanding safety record without any lost time accidents for more than nine years. Safety is absolutely PMP’s number one priority, so we decided to help our local fire department.
In addition to this donation, PMP also supported other local organizations and charities this year that focus on the treatment of incurable diseases in children and youth education. PMP is always willing to assist our community in any way possible, and we always strive to be a good and responsible corporate citizen in our local area.
